Blood Donation @ 01/05/18

It's time for blood donation. Last donated was in Jan 18. Was supposed to go on last weekend but didn't have time. So, since yesterday was a public holiday, decided to go. Drove all the way to KL Blood Bank Centre but saw a signage of "Tutup". Asked the guard and confirm it was closed yesterday. But the guard said there was a blood donation campaign in PJ Mall. I wondered where is the PJ Mall as I never heard of it. I clarified with the guard whether it is Amcorp Mall, she said yes. Half way driving to the place, to make sure I didn't go to the wrong place, asked Mr Google for National Blood Bank Centre "Donation Activities". Found there was one at Kwan Inn Teng Temple, PJ. So, detour to the place...

Arrived at the place and to my surprise, lots of people there for blood donation.

The blood donation campaign schedule, which could be found on the website easily.

Maybe one of the reasons the KL blood centre closed is because all the staff have been mobilized to here due to the huge donors response.

Though many donors but with the help of the volunteers there, things move very efficient. I do not have to wait for a long time.

After the donation, headed for a free vege lunch and it's yummy...

Besides mineral water, this is the only drinks provided, of course it's Free also  :)  :)

Jogging @ 25.10.17

More than a week did not go jogging. The leg muscles were recuperating and health was not that good. Last Wednesday was Deepavali and happened that I was in Metro Kepong shopping mall and there was a blood donation campaign. Donated mine as I was due to donate on 15 Oct after my last donation 3 months ago.

Anyway, really not in a good condition to do the jog but still forced myself to complete 4km distance. Super slow pace.

The Effect of Jogging After Donating Blood

Feeling the pace has been quite slow after donating blood on last Wednesday. Could it be due to the lower level of oxygen as a result of red blood cells reduced in my body ? I was given Ferrous Fumarate and Folic Acid tablets that last for a week.

Ferrous Fumarate is for supplementing iron in the blood but one should not take this if has allergic to the ingredient of the tablet. A person who has high level of iron in blood or certain iron metabolism problems also should avoid taking this tablet.

Folic Acid, I thought only women need it but apparently I was wrong. Folic acid is some form of Vitamin B and it helps to produce or maintain new cells. Again, one should not take this if the person is allergic to folic acid.
