RunWild (3rd Series) - 09/09/18

Finally, here come the 3rd series of Run Wild at MARDI, UPM. Arrived the event place around 6:30am. The run started at 7:30am.

It's 7am, 30 minutes to go before the race starts.

7:11am. Still waiting for runners to arrive

The last series of the year in December....crash with my primary school mates gathering trip, from 7 Dec to 9 Dec 😅. Need to figure out whether can arrange something out or not.

The running route and some sponsors details.

Mike is giving briefing about running routes and safety information before the race starts.

Yes, I done it, awesome ! 😃

Timing was 1 hour 12 minutes, it's better than the last RunWild in Semenyih.

I was observing my heart rate during the run. The max was 181 bpm and it's above my average max of 170 bpm, but I never slow down. 😃

The route recorded by the watch.

The hardest route was from 3.7km where we have to ascent from altitude of 68m to the highest 147m at 5km.  It took me 13 minutes to run a distance of 1.3km.

Finished runners resting

My bib number.

The finisher medal.

Finally, the result. Overall position 55th and in my category, I was 8th out of 23 runners. Not bad huh 😁

Auto Bavaria Performance Series Run 2018

Woke up 5am for the 10km running event organized by BMW (Auto Bavaria Performance Run Series). The event was held at Shah Alam Stadium. Targeted my timing to be within 1 hour.

Two 5 series BMW cars parked at the starting point, thought was for the lucky draw winners.

Warming up session before the race starts.

The 2 cars were being drove away to give way for the run

Completed the run at 58 minutes...the distance was slightly below 10km.

Runners queuing up here to take photo

Yes, it's me 😃😃

More 5km & 10km runners came back.

 Would be another sunny day.

While leaving the place, saw still there were 5km runners coming back.

Nicely designed finisher medal

Lucky number for this run.

Was monitoring my heart rate during the run, as I have checked and know that at my age the maximum heart rate should be at 170 only.

2018 PJ Half Marathon

This is my 2nd attempt to run the half marathon after the last Standard Chartered Marathon in April this year. I know my limit after the first 21km run in April as both my legs surrounding the knee areas started to feel pain after the 11th km, I had to walk for quite a distance before continued my run.  Although half way, there was medical team and I took some creams to relief the pain but it did not help much. This time, the same problem happened and compared to the previous run, I could feel the pain is no better though I have bought a knee brace and wore it during the run.

Let's see what happens on my next Auto Bavaria Performance Run, 2 weeks from now.

The earliest flag off time was 4:45am

And the cut-off time for 21km was 4 hours

The running route for 21km.

4:45am, still early to see many participants. The 30km has yet to start

42 countries runners are taking part.

Still in sleepy mood  😀😀

30km just flagged off but there are still late runners (black and light blue shirt) coming in

21km runners started to move in now. Will flag off at 5:15am

Yes, completed the run but was slow by 8 minutes compared to Standard Chartered Marathon that I ran on 8 April 18.

Many runners already completed their run.

Got a free ice-cream 😋😋

A shot before going home 😃

My lucky number 😄

Nicely designed finisher medal

Running route recorded by Suunto watch.

Max heart rate was 174 and average 161 bpm. According to American Heart Association, average maximum heart rate at my age should be 170 bpm and target zone should be 85-145 bpm. Meaning, I am over of these recommended range. Should I reduce my pace next time ? But it will be too slow for me and will not achieve my targeted timing. 😃

National Geographic Earth Day Run @ 22/4/18

Yes, finally.......the day has arrived for the 15km run....It's also the first time National Geographic organized the Earth Day Run in Malaysia.

Went to collect the race kits yesterday. Since the organizer is Gamuda Land. It's usual for them to do some marketing....the collection place was at TwentyFive7 at Kota Kemuning. It's a huge property projects and all are high end houses. The Ridge House Superlink priced at RM985k after 8% discount. We saw the show house and was nicely designed. However, kids wanted the Flexi Superlink, guess how much is the selling price ? RM1.49 mil after 8% less. They really know what is the best 😁

Buggy cars fetching customers from car park to the gallery.

They enjoy sitting the car.... :)

Race is about to start....

Yes, completed the run with a finisher medal  😊

Main stage and many booths were set up there...

One of the booths is National Geographic to educate and promote zero waste.👍👍

Of course the main sponsor has a few booths there to promote their projects.

Free ice-cream...but long queue

Since it's earth day, no paper cups or bottled water provided. All runners were advised to bring their own bottles to refill the water.

Petrosains, the Discovery Centre also has its booth there.

We are reminded to recycling, to save the earth.

14.51km in 1 hour 31 minutes. Beyond the target I have set for myself....within 1 hour 30 minutes.

Lucky number for this run

Finisher for every runner who has crossed the finishing line.

The route for 15km

Timing details....1005 kcal was burnt..but it only takes 3 Roti Canai kosong to replenish the calories. I got back my 376 calories with a breakfast of Roti Bawang Telur.  😁😁
