Auto Bavaria Performance Series Run 2018

Woke up 5am for the 10km running event organized by BMW (Auto Bavaria Performance Run Series). The event was held at Shah Alam Stadium. Targeted my timing to be within 1 hour.

Two 5 series BMW cars parked at the starting point, thought was for the lucky draw winners.

Warming up session before the race starts.

The 2 cars were being drove away to give way for the run

Completed the run at 58 minutes...the distance was slightly below 10km.

Runners queuing up here to take photo

Yes, it's me 😃😃

More 5km & 10km runners came back.

 Would be another sunny day.

While leaving the place, saw still there were 5km runners coming back.

Lucky number for this run.

Was monitoring my heart rate during the run, as I have checked and know that at my age the maximum heart rate should be at 170 only.

2018 PJ Half Marathon

This is my 2nd attempt to run the half marathon after the last Standard Chartered Marathon in April this year. I know my limit after the first 21km run in April as both my legs surrounding the knee areas started to feel pain after the 11th km, I had to walk for quite a distance before continued my run.  Although half way, there was medical team and I took some creams to relief the pain but it did not help much. This time, the same problem happened and compared to the previous run, I could feel the pain is no better though I have bought a knee brace and wore it during the run.

Let's see what happens on my next Auto Bavaria Performance Run, 2 weeks from now.

The earliest flag off time was 4:45am

And the cut-off time for 21km was 4 hours

The running route for 21km.

4:45am, still early to see many participants. The 30km has yet to start

42 countries runners are taking part.

Still in sleepy mood  😀😀

30km just flagged off but there are still late runners (black and light blue shirt) coming in

21km runners started to move in now. Will flag off at 5:15am

Yes, completed the run but was slow by 8 minutes compared to Standard Chartered Marathon that I ran on 8 April 18.

Many runners already completed their run.

Got a free ice-cream 😋😋

A shot before going home 😃

My lucky number 😄

Running route recorded by Suunto watch.

Max heart rate was 174 and average 161 bpm. According to American Heart Association, average maximum heart rate at my age should be 170 bpm and target zone should be 85-145 bpm. Meaning, I am over of these recommended range. Should I reduce my pace next time ? But it will be too slow for me and will not achieve my targeted timing. 😃
