Jogging @ 29.09.17

Missed my jogging for 2 days.....told myself no matter what, have to jog today, else I will not jog for the next 2 days because tomorrow is Saturday and then Sunday. I want to wake up slightly late instead of 6am or 6.30am just for the jog. Can't help for the pace.....just let it be and see I can increase the pace on my next running event...Hari Sukan Negara run on 14 Oct.

Jogging @ 27.09.17 - Body not in tip top conditions

Was supposed to jog yesterday, though watch alarm was heard but still fall back to sleep.......Pace getting slower and slower.....

Body not really in good conditions. Monday morning after having my bread and cereal, send Han to school but felt sleepy, I have to drive to a park on my way to work and slept for about 30 minutes. Tuesday, had my bread and cereal but felt alright, have a cup of Kopi Tarik at one of the mamak stalls before heading to office.

This morning, took cereal and a slice of bread, sent Han to school, went to a coffee shop to have my breakfast. On my way to office, body again does not perform well...feel sleepy when I stepped into my office room this morning. Took some Pao Sheng (泡参), hopefully it helps to re-energize my body later.

Jogging @ 22.09.17

It's a holiday but not for me...I work as usual as the company does not observe this holiday. Supposed to jog on an alternate day but did not jog yesterday, so no more excuse for me not to wake up early. No improvement on the pace....

Feel very tiring lately, especially in the morning when I step in to office and after lunch. Always felt sleepy during these 2 occasions. Something must be wrong with my body....I didn't sleep very late, I have my DOM Benedictine before going to sleep. I eat as usual except the breakfast where I take my bread with cereal at home instead of going to coffee shop to have my breakfast. Can this be the reason ? Maybe I have to revert to the old habit, i.e. to have breakfast at coffee shop and see whether the condition can improve. Well, why not try for a week and see how thing goes.

Jogging @ 19.09.17

After rested for 2 days, time to get up and resume my jogging. Yes, Sunday went for a football game with a group of veteran friends. Each time after the game, my instep and arch would feel pain for a few days....Don't really want to find out the reason...aging ? lack of calcium ? Will find out one day what causes the arch pain.

Han Upgraded to Yellow Level 2

Time flies, it's Saturday again. My routine work at home....breakfast with family, updating expenditure records, sent Han for swimming class in the afternoon. Han was upgraded to Yellow Level 2 last week, she told me it's getting harder now after the swim lesson. Yes, there is no easy things in the world that you can get it without putting any effort. She was at Level 1 since 1 July, it took about 2 months ++ for her to complete.

She has 2 more levels to go to complete her junior program, which according to the schedule, should be around 18 months, including this Level 2. The fastest will be 12 months, depending on her progress and learning ability. Thereafter, she can enroll into Mini Squad. I will leave it to her.....as long she has the interest in swimming, will let her continue to learn. After all, it's a life skill and may be useful for her one day. Need to let her explore more interest so that she can choose one and pursue accordingly when she grows up later.

We went for Roti Canai after the swimming class as Han said she was hungry. Stomach was quite full and decided to go for a jog in the evening to burn my extra calories. After ironing my cloths, went out at 6pm for the exercise.

IJM Duo Highway Challenge @ 10.09.17

Finally, it's running event day. Woke up at 4.45am to get ready for the IJM Duo Highway Challenge. About 15 minutes drive from home, arrived about 5.50am, saw part of the NPE roads already closed.

Cars from Subang Jaya towards NPE have to make U-turn.

 Road without cars.

Still early for the 10km event.

Lovely weather, drizzling....just nice for the running.

Finished my10.38 km run at 58 min 29 sec. Good timing ? Not really, my best time for 10km was 56 minutes when I ran Standard Chartered KL Marathon in May.

Finisher medal

Yes, I done it again !!

Refreshing after the run.

 The Lion is watching us......

Price presentation stage but not for me  :)

How well I have done in the race for my veteran category. At 29th place among 319 veterans... Not bad huh !!! Congratulations  :)  :)

The 10km route.

My lucky number for this run.

Get ready for this Sunday IJM Dual Highway Challenge in which I have registered for the 10km category.

Also bought the LED armband from Lelong for my morning jog. The one that I was using somehow has not been working, I guess it's time to change for a new one. After all, I used that for almost a year.

Batu Caves & Ulu Yam @ 31.08.17

It's Merdeka day, decided to bring kids go out. We left home about 11am and was supposed to head for Batu Caves but wife said she was hungry, detour to my old home, Jinjang for lunch. Many changes happened in Jinjang, the place I was born and brought up.

This Kui Lin dim sum restaurant is late-father used to came here for breakfast. Guess how much for 2 adults and 2 kids ?

RM49.82.....Not cheap huh

Fullwealth restaurant was actually a Cinema.

This Indian barbershop still around after more that 40 years, I used to came here for hair cut when I was a kid.

After the breakfast, we headed to Batu Caves, lost my way when approaching the place though I have Waze with me. The entrance fee for a car was only RM2 and there was plenty parking spaces.

Not that crowded since it's holiday today.

 Cheers !

Kids are so excited...leading and calculating the steps.

Decided to wait for mom here for a photo.

Nice view

Monkeys can be seen everywhere and they are not afraid of human.

We spotted this monkey trying to drink coca-cola. He opens the bottle cover....

Then, he took out the drinking straw.

Finally, with a leg to support, he's enjoying coca-cola....

Kids arrived the cave without much hassle.

There is a Dark Caves, which is a conservation site, open for visitors. Tickets price are RM35 for adult and RM25 for child.

Information is available here.

Objective and Mission

Not many are willing to pay for the ticket.
After Batu Caves, wanted to let kids see how the dam looks like. So, we went to Empangan Batu in Ulu Yam but we did not stop at the site, just drove along the area and went to eat the famous food there, Loh Mee. We arrived at Ulu Yam Lama, all the restaurants are in the village and many of them full of people. We ended up to the one that we previously came.

Swee Yen Restaurant, according to a colleague who home town is here, told that this is not the most famous.

Hock Choon Kee, the original Loh Mee. Sometimes have to wait for an hour for the food to be served.

My colleague who happened to come back for a 2 days holiday break, came to meet me at the restaurant. He then brought us to his mother house, which is in Ulu Yam Baru, about 10 minutes drive from Ulu Yam Lama.

This is the kitchen where she uses wood to cook. City kids seldom can see such kitchen nowadays.

Though I also grown up from village but our house never had this type of traditional cooking stove.

Chickens being bred in the backyards.

Han said she never seen such place and how the chickens being bred

Both sisters are happy to be here for a good experience.

We then went to my colleague house for a short break before heading home around 6pm. It was a happy trip for both the kids.
