CNY 2018 Visit

On the CNY 3rd day, we visited our 3rd uncle and auntie house in Sg Buloh together with my siblings and cousins. Arrived there about 11am, chatted with 3rd auntie and my cousin. Got to know that 3rd auntie has a Alzheimer's disease and is now on medication. 3rd uncle had once fell down in the toilet and had a mild stroke on left side of the body.

My cousin, eldest daughter of 3rd uncle is working in KL and often come back to the house during weekend to look after both the parents.

The youngest daughter who is married, staying and working nearby the housing area will come home during lunch time and at night to cook for them. Got to know also her husband was once diagnosed with nasal cavity cancer a few years ago and went for the Chemotherapy treatment and is under control now. But he also suffered a stroke and business partner, after knowing the incident, decided to leave the business. 😞. He is now applying for SOCSO compensation and OKU or Persons with Disabilities status from the relevant agencies. Hopefully he can succeed to get the financial assistance from SOCSO.

Life really isn't easy for them but life has to move on. May them get the blessing from Buddha. πŸ™

We left at 12.30pm for our next visit.

Group photo for all to remember.

After lunch at Mc Donald, we went to mom's side cousin house. The next stop was mom's brother, we call him Di Gu (2nd uncle). He is already 90 but still in good health, heard he still can drive car ! πŸ‘πŸ‘ It was my first visit to late mother side cousins after so many years. Sisters normally did the visiting on CNY 2nd day but since this year, the visiting day changed to 3rd day, I managed to join them. We stayed there for a short time and went to late mom's sister house, which is also nearby.

Penang Lobak (ζ§ŸεŸŽδΊ”ι¦™θ‚‰ε·), prepared by 4th auntie. Very yummy.

Six herbs sweet soup or ε…ε‘³η³–ζ°΄ also very delicious

Malaysian style pickled vegetables or we also called it achat. Spicy

After mom's side cousin visit, we went to father's side cousin house (6th aunt is staying), the final one before we went to Puchong, Hakka Passion restaurant for our reunion dinner.

While waiting for others to arrive, we have a family photo πŸ˜ƒ

The restaurant's tables are fully booked

Preparing the Yusheng or we called it Luo Sang

May all bless with good health, happiness and prosperity in the year of Dog !

CNY 2018 @ Tampin

This Chinese New Year is different. Instead of going to eldest sister house for reunion dinner on CNY eve, we went back to Tampin for the reunion dinner. After praying the Buddha and ancestors, we left home around 12.30pm. Surprisingly there was no traffic jam along the major highway. We arrive Tampin about 2pm. Was suppose to do last minute car polishing but ended up only waxing. After dinner, kids were the happiest ones as they can play fire works.

Xuan is happily playing with the fireworks.

Happily playing with their cousins.

Could not stop the fun of holding the fireworks.

Han & Xuan slept quite late on CNY eve since they hardly had the chance to play fireworks with their cousin. I was like a pig, slept early....πŸ˜€

On the 1st day of CNY morning, after breakfast, we went to a temple for praying.

A temple located nearby in-laws house and not many people since it's in a small town.

The winners from the school kids for drawing competition organized by this temple.

Both are wearing the same skirts bought by their grand-mother.

Photo with their mom and grand-mother before we say bye bye to the temple.

Found this stall opened at one of the shop lot, very good business since mostly all the Chinese shops and stalls were closed during CNY.

After lunch, we came to this temple. An annual event for me during CNY.

Free herbs water for the devotees, it was tasteless, just like a normal drinking water but help to reduce body's heat.

Kids were curious about something out there.

Fun time for the kids.

Let's see who can run faster.

Of course Han runs fastest but where is your water bottle ?

This flower is beautiful but don't know what is the name.

After dinner, it's fireworks time and of course kids like it the most.

Mmmm....it's too close to the car.

Han was initially afraid to lights up the fireworks but after seeing her cousin did it for a few times, she braved herself to try and of course later it became a history. πŸ˜ƒ

They still like this the most.

On 2nd day of CNY, we went to Malacca Qing Yun Ting temple. So many cars on the Jonker Street here. Weather was extremely hot though it was only about 10am.

People mountain people sea.

Many devotees are here waiting for the chanting session to begin.

Devotees are submitting the names to the master.

The oldest temple in Malaysia.

Xuan hardly could open her eyes when taking photo. 😁

After the temple visit, we went to Aeon in Malacca. CNY decoration still attract many to take photo.

Photo with a big Dog :)

Lunch at The Garden Recipe Cafe. Han ordered her favorite food.

Where is Han ? Hiding or enjoying her food ? :)

Xuan finished her rice and chips ! πŸ‘

Everyone is enjoying the food here.

Soba vege noddle soup

Wife ordered a set of this.

Before going back to Shah Alam, kids still wanted to play the fireworks.

See how enjoys Xuan is πŸ˜ƒ

Han wanted to draw a pattern with this.

Pretty girls, almost time up to go home....

We left Tampin about 9.30pm. Using Waze, we saw there was heavy jam along the highway, we avoid that by taking the old road. But somehow still a minor jam at certain areas, we used a new road leading to Bandar Ainsdale new toll and exit back to Plus highway before Nilai. Traffic was smooth along the way and reached home about 11pm. Kids were already having sweet dreams in the car, they were too tired after having a great 2 days at Tampin.

Kids New Beds

Have been thinking to buy a new bed for Han & Xuan for a long time. After searching some information, the best place to look see look see is Ikea. So, bring family went to Ikea on Sunday for bed shopping in Damansara. Really huge crowd, so many people were there....seem that life goes on though people complain economy is not good. After spending a few hours there, finally decided to buy 2 sets TARVA Day-bed. As the business was so good, have to queue for about 20 minutes to make the payment. Guess how much was the price for 2 beds ? ........RM1,198 including GST.

One of the packing was heavy (about 19kg) and long (2.12 meter), glad that I have the X-trail, unfolded one of the back seats and the packing stretch to the front seat console box. By the time reached home (after having dinner), it was too late to fix the bed. Though kids were so existed to want me fix the bed on the day itself, but I guess it would take at least 3 hours to fix one bed since this is a whole new DIY for me.

   TARVA Bed

It's Sunday, kids could not wait and keep asking me to fix the bed for them since morning. But DIY could only start after lunch.

Han & Xuan were so excited and wanted to help.

Each of them take turn to hammer the wood plugs.

After1 hours 15 mins,we were still at this stage....

Yes, we completed one bed in 3 hours 20 minutes.  :)

Finally, Han got her new bed now and temporary share with Xuan. Xuan one would be assembled on next Sunday.
