On the way back to home from Tampin, decided to stop by this restaurant to have lunch.

Bukit Tampin Hike @ 24.12.17

Came back to parents-in-law house Saturday night. Decided to explore the long abandone (by me) Bukit Tampin in the afternoon on Christmas Eve.

 Let's start the hiking.....
About 20 minutes or 1.6km from the entrance to here.
There are 2 small water ponds up here.
Big signage here.

A place to rest on the half way to summit

Green Patch is the name of this rest area

Summit of the Bukit Tampin. About 50 minutes or 3.6km from the entrance.

Found this along the way.

Going down to the water ponds...

Opps...It's 3 ponds, not 2

Panorama view

A pipe is made to draw the water from the jungle.

The peak of the summit is 536 meter height

48 minutes and 3.82km to the summit.

Run Wild @ 3/12/17

Was supposed to run with 2 friends but last minutes they called off. So, drove myself to MARDI for the run.

The participants were not many, from the list given by the organizer, total only 77 has registered and 9 was in the Junior Veteran category.

It was a hard time to find the venue as Mardi is a very huge place. Good that I left home early.

Overall, the run was great. The markers were tagged along the route and Marshall were available at the appropriate junctions. Though only one water station available at about 7km with no cups provided (as informed early) to conserve the nature. The run was well organized !!!

 Car Parking Area

No early collection of race kits. We were advised to collect during the event day. Only 2 tents were set up at the venue.

Race starts at 7.30am, it's 7.10am, no runners here yet.

Panorama view of the event place.

That was the starting point

Organizer is briefing us on the signage and safety matters.

Here are all the participants :)

 One of the hurdles....

Yes, I have done it !
Completed my run. The route was the toughest for the running event that I took in year 2017. Uphill and slope at 45 degree. The organizer told us before the race started. He said that the Army and Police forces also use this route for training. So, can imagine it is no joke.

Though not exactly 10km but I took 1 hour 9 minutes to complete.

Like I said, running up to the height of 319 meter is not easy, at least for me. I have to walk a few times when my energy used up. But I like the weather, it was cloudy and cool. Running down the slope of 45 degree neither good for my knee as I need to control the speed else would be tumbling down all the way.

Running in the jungle is good as the air is far more fresher than running on the road.

Lucky number  :)

Got the finisher as well.

My result 😁
