Jing Han 1st Day in Primary School

Time flies, Jing Han already 7 years old and today is her 1st day in primary school. She was initially registered at Khe Beng but students in standard 1 and 2 are in afternoon session. Therefore, wife requested from District Education Dept to transfer her to SJKC Tun Tan Siew Sin which is morning session, and it is also quite near to our house, about 10 minutes driving.

She woke up at 6am this morning, 30 minutes early when she was in Kindergarten.

Han with her new school uniform

My first experience to send my daughter to school and it was raining. As usual, first school day in a new year always caused a lot of traffics. I have to park my car far away from her school and walked her inside.

She is placed in 1J or 1 Jujur class. We arrived about 7am and there were so many parents with their new kids on the block. After leading her into the class room, I told her to wait for her kindergarten friend, Li Ying to come and told her mommy will come to fetch her after school in the noon time, then I left. She waved good bye to me.

When I went into the car, saw a pack of tissue paper which Jing Han supposed to bring along. Maybe the tissue paper slipped out from her pocket, I drove back to the school. When I reached the classroom, I saw her crying, her good friend was sitting next to her.

Tears in her eyes, so pity......

I went inside, asked her why she cried, her good friend replied she wanted her papa. Tears came out from her eyes and she told me she was scared. I tried to console her but she insisted me to stay and wanted me to give her my hand phone so that she can called me later. I told her teacher did not allow student to carry hand phone and mommy will come to fetch her later. She still not convince, wanted her mommy to come now and told me she did not know mommy's hand phone number. She wanted me to call mommy now, I called and passed the phone to her to talk to her mommy for  while.  After hung up, I kept consoling her and told her I will wait outside the classroom.

 Desperately looking for her Papa....

Then, headmaster came and asked all parents to leave the classroom compound. I could hear few of the kids crying in the classroom also. I guess it was a norm for kids to be in a new environment as I remember I was in the same situation when I was a kid in kindergarten :)  :).

 Helplessly seeing me leaving

I left the school and went to work. Around 10am++, I called mommy, she was at Han's school and she told me Han was okay.

I wonder what will happen tomorrow........  :)
